The Gravy Train specialise in Poutine, a melty, gooey, belly-warming delight from Quebec. Traditionalists would argue that the holy trinity of poutine – Gravy, Cheese Curds and Fries – is perfectly formed and needs no additions, and to those people I’d say “Gosh darn-it you’re right!” But we’re open to a little Charlie Mingus-style improv here at The Gravy Train so feel at liberty to load your Poutine with our Blasphemers’ delights – Shredded BBQ Chicken, Mapled Bacon, Crispy Onions, Roasted Peppers, Choppy Cajun Slaw, Soured Cream or Sauteed Mushrooms.

We are Dan and Sarah and we run the Sunshine Pizza Oven, based in the Peak District, near Sheffield. With the help of our friendly, efficient team and our beautiful orange pizza ovens, we produce tasty wood-fired pizzas, which are hand-stretched and thin crust. Our dough is slow-proved, containing 100% organic, stoneground flour, grown in England. A third of our flour comes from Worsbrough Mill, near Barnsley, where it is milled by water power. The pizza sauce is made with 100% organic tomatoes, and we use fresh, whole mozzarella, seasonal vegetables and a selection of Italian meats and cheeses. We also have gluten- and dairy-free options.

The Ottomen were a huge hit at this year’s Sheffield Food Festival, specialising in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, colourful and exciting mezze and insane wraps, all created with passion. Catering to all dietary requirements, they have an extensive vegan, vegetarian and gluten free offering as well as some stand out meat dishes.

We are Corn of the Dead, a small family run Mexican street food business. We sell yummy Mexican style fresh corn on the cob (Elotes) and for those who prefer it loose, we sell delicious cups of corn (Esquite), all topped with authentic Mexican flavours. Our corn is the perfect snack for any time of the day, it’s vegetarian, gluten free and there is also a vegan option.

We are Wah Wahs and run a Mexican cafe on Chesterfield Road in Sheffield. We’ll be bringing our vegan and organic churros to Illuminate the Gardens, served with a selection of high calibre sweet dipping sauces.

Drinks

We’re thrilled to have Stancill Pilsner featured on the Illuminate the Gardens bar this year. It’s a premium British Pilsner/Lager with an ABV of 5% and quad filtered for strength, character and purity. It is brewed in Sheffield using the finest British malt, Noble hops from the Czech Republic, yeast from Germany and the purest Peak District water. The result is a Pilsner so crisp and perfectly clear even the father of Pils’ Joseph Groll would be proud of.

Two of the Bradfield Brewery’s most popular ales, Farmers Blonde and Farmers Belgian Blue are featuring on the bar this year’s Illuminate the Gardens event. Farmers Blonde – a brilliant Blonde, easy drinking session ale & Farmers Belgian Blue – a distinctive winter beer, with beery overtones and an unusual Blue tint to the head – the seasonal ale sought after all year round!

Kelham Island Brewery will be supplying the Illuminate the Gardens bar with Kelham Best: a classic amber Yorkshire bitter showcasing the finest British ingredients and traditional brewing techniques, and KIB 1: A light and refreshing craft ale not overly hoppy with a subtle after taste.

Mr D’Arcys Drink Emporium is a lovingly converted Rice horse trailer serving premium drinks. We are delighted to be joining the team at Illuminate the Gardens this year and will be serving up some lovely warming drinks including mulled wine, mulled cider and baileys hot chocolates alongside our standard offerings of g&t’s, prosecco, chocolate champagne and a special bonfire cocktail. Come join us and get merry!

We are Coffika: A specialist independent coffee house, based in Meadowhall, Sheffield. We’ll be serving quality (locally sourced and Forge roasted) coffee, teas, cakes and various grab and go treats, including the fabulous #Brownies. Don’t miss out on our delicious espresso martinis too!
